While riding my bike along country roads, I came across these incredibly graceful, almost figurative, Tar Lines. I had seen them many times before, but on that particular day, the way the light was illuminating them, made me literally stop in my tracks. I dropped my bike, took photos and made a video walking the line. When I saw a call for Art for an exhibit entitled “Ephemera: The Power of Impermenance,” I decided to enter this piece. I created a 30’ long painting on asphalt roofing and installed that along with the photos, inviting people to “walk the line” and appreciate them, the way I had.
